Work experience
He entered the National Judicial Branch in 1988 as assistant in Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No.1 of the Federal Capital. After being promoted several times both in the Federal Justice and in the Criminal Oral Courts of the Federal Capital he resigned in 1995 and left his state position to work as a criminal lawyer in the private sector.
In that year he started working at SICMA S.A., a company owned by Perez Companc, providing counsel to 5 insurance companies related to the economic group. He participated as lawyer in charge of the Criminal Law Department of the company.
In 1998 he held the office of General Director of the Undersecretariat of Investigations in the “Intervention of the Police of Buenos Aires Province”. Some months later he was appointed as Chief of Cabinet of the Secretariat of Judicial Investigations of the Ministry of Justice of Buenos Aires Province.
In 1999, he enters the law firm of “VERGARA & FERNANDEZ ALONSO” as associate.
In May 2003, together with Mr. Diego Fernández Alonso, he organized a new corporation which finally became the law firm named “FERNANDEZ ALONSO, BECCAR VARELA & RICHARDS. ATTORNEYS AT LAW”.

Academic activity
He attended a postgraduate course during 2002/2003 in the School of Law of Universidad Austral and obtained the degree of “Lawyer specialized in Criminal Law”.
He participated in several courses and seminars related to Criminal Law, specially, courses related to fraud in insurances and economic and tax crimes.
He held the position of assistant professor in Criminal Law I (Mrs. Antonieta Goscilo’s Chair) in the School of Law of Universidad Católica Argentina.
He collaborated as visiting lecturer in law matters (Mr. Miguel Murray’s chair) in the School of Economics of Universidad Católica Argentina, in the career of Accountant.
